Ben Grumbles: I think that given Nepal's stature in the world and the importance of it, the sacredness of its waters and ecosystems, and the health of it. There definitely needs to be, beyond the local homegrown stewardship and leadership for environmental responsibility, there there are opportunities for stirring the international community to action. I've witnessed that in the United States, when different organizations from around the world signal for it and offer assistance in protecting those icons, those places of the world like the Grand Canyon in Arizona, to the Florida Everglades. There are certain ecosystems that can transcend just a specific local or national jurisdiction in our ecosystems, to be protected and helped out by the global citizenry. So that's an important one.
But I also know that the infrastructure of environmental intellectuals and policymakers in the United States are often eager to share specific tools and insights they've learned on setting up legal mechanisms for environmental protection. I’ve traveled in China and met with people, when I was part of the United States government, to share ideas about how to improve watersheds, using permits for some, and also in agricultural very rural areas, finding other mechanisms, raising awareness, and getting better planning; in finding mechanisms of accountability, that also include specific enforceable rights that citizens groups have to raise awareness and bring lawsuits if government is not doing its job.
Deepika Shrestha: That would help.
